Testy szkolne i rekonstrukcja edukacyjnej rzeczywistości

Abstrakt

CEL NAUKOWY: Celem artykułu jest rekonstrukcja problemu ideologicznych oraz społecznych, ale także kulturowych kontrowersji wokół rosnącego znaczenia testów w wyznaczaniu granic współ­czesnej neoliberalnej rzeczywistości szkolnej i tożsamości uczniów.

PROBLEMY I METODY BADAWCZE: Główny problem badawczy można sformułować w sposób następujący: jaka jest rola testów w kształtowaniu struktury społecznej oraz tożsamości młodych ludzi? Punktem wyjścia odpowiedzi na to pytanie była analiza reprezentatywnej literatury przed­miotu, szczególnie anglojęzycznej. Metody analizy mają charakter jakościowy i mieszczą się w ra­mach społecznego konstruktywizmu.

PROCES WYWODU: Proces wywodu składa się z kilku etapów: wprowadzenia w problematykę związaną ze zjawiskiem testowania, rekonstrukcji wybranych kontekstów problemu testowania, analizy konsekwencji polityki testowania dla procesów socjalizacji i selekcji, podsumowania i wnio­sków. W przedstawionych sposobach argumentacji unika się twierdzeń o charakterze wartościu­jącym; mają one charakter zdecydowanie diagnostyczny.

WYNIKI ANALIZY NAUKOWEJ: W artykule ukazano specyfikę dwóch typów testów: diagnostycz­nego – na przykładzie testów PISA, i selekcyjnego – na przykładzie chińskiego gaokao. Rozważania prowadzono wokół dwóch najważniejszych kategorii wyznaczających obszary analiz i interpreta­cji – selekcji i socjalizacji. Wykazano, że testy w sposób oczywisty służą „sortowaniu” młodych ludzi i wyznaczaniu ich życiowych szans, a także stanowią potężny mechanizm selekcyjny, reproduku­jący strukturę społeczną, ale i tworzący kanały ruchliwości społecznej. Z drugiej strony pokazano, iż testy kształtują tożsamość młodych ludzi. Można zatem stwierdzić, że selekcyjna funkcja testów (i szerzej – egzaminów) urzeczywistniana jest poprzez socjalizację w okresie je poprzedzającym. Dzieje się to zarówno w kontekście zawartości (zredukowanej) wiedzy, do której przyswojenia testu przymuszają, jak i konstruowania sposobów myślenia o uczeniu się/nauczaniu, a także myślenia o sukcesie edukacyjnym oraz kształtowania pewnych cech osobowościowych.

WNIOSKI, INNOWACJE, REKOMENDACJE: Zrozumienie mechanizmów testowania, jak rów­nież ich roli w procesach selekcji i socjalizacji, może służyć jako punkt wyjścia działań pedagogicz­nych na rzecz świadomej i krytycznej polityki oświatowej.
